Typhoons can be one of the most destructive forces on the planet. And with the destruction comes the humanitarian crisis that follows afterward. Recently, one businessman and entrepreneur has helped typhoon victims in the Philippines get back on their feet. That businessman, Greg Secker, has opened up his heart and his wallet to positively impact thousands of people.
The villages of Iloilo, Capinahan, and Lemery saw the widespread destruction from the devastating impact of Typhoon Haiyan. Many people saw their homes destroyed and the infrastructure of the area was almost beyond repair for many of the local officials. Businessman Greg Secker was joined by hometown hero and Phillipino boxing champion Nonito Donaire, Jr. to help the typhoon victims. The result was a massive construction project of 100 homes in the village of Lemery to help shelter the victims.
The project is a brainchild of Mr. Secker which he calls, “Build A House, Build A Home.” The project seeks to build as many houses as possible. However, the goal is to not simply shelter the victims but to give them a sense of dignity by making the shelter feel more like a home.
Greg Secker is a 42-year old businessman and entrepreneur who first made his fortune in his 20s. For over two decades, Mr. Secker has been innovating the world of business, finance as well as tech.
