George Soros knows how to Protest Injustice

Injustice is all around us. At any given moment, a governmental or institutional group can rise-up to create a lot of pain and wreak havoc on a group of people. Whether this group is a national minority, immigrants from another land or refugee settlers; the tyranny of a traditional institution can cause people to suffer. Men like George Soros cannot sit idly by while this happens.

George Soros is a man of great wealth and position. He is ranked as one of the top 30th wealthiest people on the planet. Soros has been around for a very long time. He was born in Hungary back in 1930. In 2017, he is 86-years-old. A man who has lived for almost a century has seen a lot of things throughout his life. He is also full of experience and wisdom.

Soros was a teenager when the Nazi’s overran his homeland of Hungary. Since his family was Jewish his father managed to deceive the Nazi’s to keep them from the horrors of the Concentration Camps. Even though Soros was spared that nightmare he had to endure other things. He had to watch how the Nazi’s negatively treated and oppressed his people. He knew that this could never happen again in life. Learn more on Discover the Networks about George Soros.

Fast forward to the present; George Soros is now doing everything he can to stop government dictatorship and institutional dominance from ruing the lives of many people. This is one reason why he helped to organize civil protest in Ferguson during the Michael Brown protests.

Minority people constantly suffer under the hand of police authority. This is especially true for members of the Black Community. There has always been a historical connection between police brutality and the Black Community. Ever since organized police forces came into existence within America; they have been used to subject the African American community to control and violence.

From the days of Jim Crow, to the Watts Riots of 68, to the Rodney King Riots of 1992; black people have always been protesting the devastating police brutality that has been happening within their community. This trend has to stop and George Soros is helping to change this situation.

Soros knows that social protest is an effective force for change. In an open society, people can protest and speak out to bring about change. Soros likes societies such as these because it brings about balance. The traditional authorities do not get to permanently dictate how things are going to be for people. Thor Halvorssen Combines Politics And Human Rights Activism

The human rights activist and film producer Thor Halvorssen has been combining his passion for protecting the human rights of people across the globe with a need to bring stories of human rights abuses to as wide an audience as possible. Thor has developed a unique position in the film industry as one of the leading producers of documentaries that tell a human story that is designed to inform, inspire, and educate.

Thor made his name as a film producer with his work on the documentary “Freedom’s Fury”,funded through his own The Moving Picture Institute with the aid of Quentin Tarantino and actress Lucy Liu the movie was a critical and commercial success upon release. Much of the documentary work completed by Halvorssen has a political standpoint rooted on the left and is also extremely concerned with addressing the human rights abuses committed by governments of all political sides; Halvorssen is seen as a liberal, but his work addressing the abuses committed by socialist governments has allowed him the opportunity to bring his message of human rights for all.

Thor Halvorssen has worked tirelessly in his bid to push forward the human rights of all people in a way that is often blind to political viewpoints of those he is working against and with. Much of the work of Thor has been completed without an eye on gaining any political advantage for the future of his own organization or for any political group; Halvorssen has worked with groups and activists from a range of political standpoints in his bid to make sure each and every person robbed of their human rights has the chance to develop their future in a free and democratic manner. One of the aims of The Moving Picture Institute has been to develop new ways of creating successful films that show the issues caused by human rights abuses that would either not be funded by regular film studios or are made by those without previous film making experience.

Halvorssen Supports Sanders: No Dictators!

Thor Halvorssen was interviewed by Trish Regan on Fox Business Network on February 25, 2016. Halvorssen is the founder and president of the Human Rights Foundation (HRF). Regan asked Halvorssen: “Why do you believe socialism is a violation of basic human rights?”

Halvorssen answered: “Countries that do not violate human rights can have socialist governments and that is perfectly okay.” He explained that governments that have branches of government, separation of powers, and Constitutional powers, like Denmark, Finland, or Sweden, that have socialist or labor governments, can be perfectly fine in terms of not violating human rights. The problem arises, Halvorssen said, “When socialism is done under an authoritarian government or someone using socialism as a mask takes control of a government, claims that they are going to help the people, and ultimately ends up looting the country. . . “ Halvorssen believes there is a difference between a country having a socialist government and a government having socialist policies.

Thor Halvorssen made a statement that seemed to astonish Regan: “I actually made the largest contribution allowable to the campaign of Bernie Sanders.” She said, “Really? Why?” He explained the current Democratic front runner right now has taken millions and millions of dollars in contributions from many dictators. He named Algeria, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain, and described human rights violations that have occurred in these countries, such as executing people for being gay, completely restricting all press freedoms, and banning Christmas.

Halvorssen described his own family’s experiences in socialist Venezuela. Halvorssen’s father was a political prisoner, his mother was shot by Chavez, and his first cousin is currently a political prisoner in Venezuela. He states that for years, decades, Venezuela had a socialist government, and things were fine there. If, he says, there is rule of law, socialism can work. He believes that poverty is not best solved by redistributing wealth; he believes making more wealth is the solution: “I am a believer in free markets.”

Halvorssen’s final statement: “I’d rather have a democratic socialist than a supporter of dictators in the White House.”

Nicki Minaj a Body without a Soul

Nicki Minaj is a popular American singer, she possesses a body of profitable popular songs, and a physical body which is constantly on display to the media and to her fans. She is idolized by many preteens and teens for being popular but her political and social ethics seem to be sorely lacking. She is, in fact, a physical presence without internal substance. Minaj was recently asked by the Human Rights Foundation to cancel a performance in Angola sponsored by Unitel. The letter explained that the organizer of the event, Unitel is owned by the family of Anglan president Jose Eduardo dos Santos, unfortunately dos Santos and Unitel are both considered to be in violation of human rights. The Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Organization considers dos Santos a dictator.
Minaj responded to this letter by, immediately, jetting to Angola to make preparations for this upcoming concert. The letter advises against dealing with dictators, or government corruption, or human rights violators. She disregarded the letter.
The warning letter was sent by Thor Leonardo Halvorssen Mendoza, a Venezuelan human rights activist and film producer. He preferrs to be called Thor Halvorssen. The New York Times calls him a maverick, who champions the causes of the poor and powerless. He is dedicating his energies to right the inequities of the modern world.
Nicky Minaj and Thor Halvorssen are two very different people. The world would be a better place if Halvorssen had some of Minaj’s millions and if Minaj had more of the ethics and sentiments of Thor Halvorssen.
Entertainers are supposed to be in tune with the common folk but it seems than Minaj is only concerned with her bottom line. She should change her tune and awaken her desire to not only make millions but help the world become a better place for everybody.
